Hey!
Important update! Sort of a good news-bad news sort of thing...
First, the bad news... Looks like we're going to have to push the release of the Malika Animated Pilot till the end of February/Early March :(
Good news... We've almost doubled the length of the content and raised the stakes on quality (see images below)
Originally we had planned on making the animated pilot 8 minutes. After locking the animatics, we're at 14 MINUTES!!!
This happened because everyone here at YouNeek as well as our co-producers, Anthill, have poured absolutely EVERYTHING into this passion project.
We want to make sure this thing comes out as perfect as possible. We've even gone as far as to increase the amount of hair and cloth simulation. Something we originally planned to keep at a minimum due to costs. Check out some screenshots below.
We're going all out with hair simulation
And we want to make sure we go above and beyond our own expectations
We've got a lot of beards to show off ;)
Let me show off my good side :)
There will be loads of African royal outfits to admire
I know this may come as a disappointment to some, but believe me, when I say, it WILL be worth the wait!
**PLEASE NOTE**
If you ordered any physical products (books, posters, T-shirts etc.) as part of your Kickstarter pledge level, you should be getting your packages anytime from now. Those were sent out last week :)
Finally, I didn't want to just make this announcement without at least showing you something. So... Here's the logo reveal of the Malika Animated Pilot! Enjoy!
And as usual, if you have any questions, complaints or comments, you can email me directly at [email protected]! I try to respond as quickly as possible!
Happy holidays! And thank you so much for your support, understanding, and patience!
By the way, I just launched another Kickstarter for my other character: E.X.O. (Part 3) and it's undeniably EPIC! If you're a fan (or even if you've never heard of it) you'll definitely want to check out the Kickstarter page for some DAY 1 EXCLUSIVES & DISCOUNTS.

I know some may be wondering "why another Kickstarter so soon?" Especially while we're still working on the Malika Animated Pilot. See my explanation below.
If you just want to get your hands on a SIGNED E.X.O. graphic novel PLUS other exclusives, follow this link.
Why Kickstarter (Again & So Soon)?
One of the things we're trying to do as a studio moving forward is reducing the amount of time between each book/product release. For that to happen, production and preorders on projects have to overlap.
This new project (E.X.O. Part 3) will in no way affect the proposed release date of the Malika animated pilot, which is being developed concurrently by another team.
Plus, we've successfully delivered (on time) 4 Kickstarter campaigns in a row over the last 3 years. We're hoping that counts for something :)
It is also important to note that we do not use Kickstarter as a means to raise funds for production (we finance that out of pocket) but as a source to take preorders and raise awareness/create additional buzz around each release.
As always, I'm available to answer any and all questions and concerns at [email protected] ;)
Thank you SO MUCH for all your support!

Hey!
We are SOOOO grateful to have the uber-talented Femi Branch (one of Nollywood's finest) voice Chief Dogbari for the Malika Animated Pilot!!!
Here’s a clip from one of his amazing takes! This is exactly how we pictured Dogbari would sound when we were creating the comics!
